A
word from the
Dealer Principal

Hello and welcome to our April E-News and a special welcome to our new subscribers.
What a refreshing change to have had some cooler, fine weather and a little rain.
It has been hard to avoid, but the new FG Falcon has been receiving some huge amounts of very positive press. Having had the opportunity to drive the range during April, it is not surprising!
As you receive this e-news, we are seeing the range roll into our showrooms, so make some time to come on in and see what all the fuss is about.
The automotive industry continues to remain very strong and 2008 is trading already ahead of record results in 2007.
Enjoy our e-news. Happy and safe motoring.

Compass |

Patriot |
John and Helen Taylor, fuel economy enthusiasts, drove a Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot from London to Berlin on less than a single tank of fuel each – an unmatched achievement among SUVs.
Both vehicles were standard production vehicles equipped with 2.0-litre turbo diesel engines and carrying two people and their luggage.
The Australian husband and wife team drove the Jeep Compass and Patriot 1059km between the two European capitals, where upon arriving in Berlin, there was enough fuel remaining in both vehicles for them to continue their journey and cross the border into Poland.
In total, they travelled a total distance of 1124.1km, on their way to achieving their record of 4.2L/100km.

A WINTER WARMER |
|
Sweet Potato and Lentil Soup
As the weather cools down it’s time to head into the kitchen for some good old fashioned winter warmups. This soup is low in fat and kilojoules and great for people with diabetes, so get cooking!
Ingredients (serves 4)
2 tsp olive oil
1 leek, trimmed, sliced
1 kg sweet potato, peeled, chopped
1 cup (210g) Ward McKenzie red split lentils, washed
2 litres (8 cups) salt-reduced vegetable or chicken stock
1 tbs finely chopped fresh oregano
Freshly ground pepper
Seed or wholegrain dinner rolls, warmed, to serve
2 tbs fat-free natural yoghurt
Fresh sprigs oregano, to serve
Method
Heat the oil in a large saucepan over a medium heat. Add the leek and cook for 5 minutes or until soft. Add the sweet potato, lentils and stock. Bring to the boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes or until the sweet potato is tender.
Place the sweet potato mixture in a food processor and process until smooth. Return to the saucepan and add the oregano. Season with the pepper. Stir over a low heat until heated through.
Serve with the warm rolls and top with yoghurt and a sprig of oregano.
