A
word from the
Dealer Principal

Hello and welcome to our August E-News and a special welcome to our new subscribers.
The South Australian automotive industry continues to perform strongly with the market up 7.5 per cent in July and 7.9 per cent up for the year to date on 2007. SA continues to be the strongest state with national sales up 2.6 per cent.
The highlight recently has been the announcement by the Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) that Ford’s new FG Falcon has become the first Australian built car to be awarded a maximum five-star crash test safety result. Given such an achievement it is our feature article of the month.
I hope you enjoy our e-news and thanks for all the positive feedback. Keep it coming.
Happy and safe motoring.

FORD FALCON- AUSTRALIA'S SAFEST CAR |
 |
It’s official, the locally-built Ford Falcon is Australia’s safest car after being awarded the maximum five-star crash test safety result by ANCAP.
Ford’s base model, the Falcon XT sedan tested well in the frontal offset, side impact and optional pole tests which ANCAP felt provided strong protection for all vehicle passengers.
This news, which is monumental for both Ford Australia and the Australian automotive industry, garnered congratulations from ANCAP’s Chairman Lauchlan McIntosh who suggested that Ford has set a precedent which others should follow.
‘The Ford Falcon now leads the pack in safety for the large Australian-made family car,’ said McIntosh. ‘ANCAP has high expectations that this achievement will encourage other manufacturers to build five-star cars.’
As well as the base model, the Falcon has another six models; the XT, XR6, XR6 Turbo, XR8, G6, G6E and G6E Turbo all in a range of stunning colours and trims, a host of optional extras and five star safety rating as standard!

- It is impossible to lick your elbow!
- Half of all Australians live within 50km of their birthplace
- Bullet proof vests, fire escapes, windshield wipers and laser printers all have one thing in common – they were all invented by women.
- Father’s day has more reverse charge calls in a day than any other.
- In English pubs, ale was ordered in pints and quarts. So in old England when customers got unruly, the bartender would yell out ‘mind your pints and quarts and settle down’, which is where the phrase ‘mind your Ps and Qs’ comes from.
- At least 75 per cent of people who read this will try to lick their elbow.
