It’s difficult to imagine traveling 13,000km for under a $1000, but that’s just what Ford Australia has managed to do.
To illustrate the benefits of the Ford LPG range, the e-gas Falcon travelled around Australia with a fuel limit of just $1000.
After a staggering twenty-three days on the road and more than three months of planning, the LPG Challenge finished on schedule and under its $1000 budget.
In total, Ford spent $997.55 over their twenty-three day adventure, with $2.45 remaining in the kitty and a half tank of LPG.

This is a handy trick worth knowing. Wonder why service providers don’t let this one out of the bag!
To check your mobile phone serial number, press –
STAR – HASH – ZERO – SIX – HASH (*#06#)
A fifteen digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it in a safe place, and if you ever have the misfortune of having your phone stolen, you can have your service provider block the phone. Even if the thief changes the SIM card, the phone will be unusable.
While it may not get your phone back, at least it won’t be able to sold or used. If everyone did this there would be no point ever stealing a mobile again!

| TYRE TIPS FOR FESTIVE TRAVEL |

Tyre maintenance is vital for the safety of anyone who travels in a car, and it can even save you money. All tyres wear out, and damage can also happen. The typical tyre life is 45,000kms, although this varies on the vehicle, climatic conditions, different driving styles and tyre compounds. The important thing is to regularly check that your tyres are safe to drive on.
There are simple things you can do to improve performance and longevity for your vehicles tyres, as well as improving fuel economy.
1. Check tyre air pressure
Check that all tyres are inflated to the pressure recommended by the manufacturer once a month, and before any long trips. The recommended pressure is listed in the vehicle owners manual, or on the inside of the driver or passengers door. Also make sure that spare tyres are correctly inflated.
|
2. Regular tyre rotation
Regular tyre rotation extends the life of tyres. It’s recommended that tyres are rotated every 10,000kms. Some tyres, because of their tread pattern, may require a different rotation process.
3. Have wheel alignment checked
Have the wheel alignment checked on any vehicle that has hit something, or that you notice handling differently. You should also have the alignment checked if the tyre is wearing out on the sides of a tyre. (Be sure to check the inside wear, not just the outside.)
4. Have wheels balanced
Have a wheel balanced if a tyre has been replaced, when a balance weight is moved or removed, when you purchase new tyres, or at the first sign of vibration or irregular tread wear.
QUICK TYRE TIPS
You should have your tyres replaced or inspected if-
- Only 3mm or less remains
- While driving, your vehicle suddenly vibrates
- The tread wear indicator, or “wear bar” are visible
- There are punctures, cuts, snags etc. in the tyre
- There is a gradual air loss in the tyre
- You notice poor handling in the wet
