A word from the
Dealer Principal

Welcome to the July edition of our e-news. June as predicted was a very busy month for the automotive industry. Nationally 105,097 vehicles were sold, up 9% on the prior year, taking the year to date total to 524,376. That’s well on track to break the one million target for the first time and set another sales record in Australia.

We have moved into our all new Chrysler Jeep Dodge showroom with only a few minor items to finalize. This coincided with our all time best monthly sales result on the back of huge interest and orders for the all new Dodge Nitro.

This month we feature a customer profile section which we will endeavor to bring you each month. If you’d like to be featured please let me know.

Enjoy this issue, and thanks to all those of you who provided positive feedback on our e-news. We enjoy bringing it to you each month!

Happy and safe motoring.

COOKING WITH KLEENHEAT GAS
We are very pleased to be associated with Ian and Bridgette Mart of Kleenheat Gas. They’ve just taken delivery of a 40th Anniversary Ford GT, adding to their existing stable of Ford vehicles that Kleenheat run, including a Ford Territory and a Focus XR5 for Bridgette (who also has an order for the soon to be released Ford Focus Convertible).

Both Ian and Bridgette’s sons work in the business and drive Ford commercial vehicles, while numerous commercial vehicles round out the fleet, including the new Ranger, Courier and Falcon Wagon.

As Ian and Bridgette are the LPG cylinder distributors for Kleenheat in South Australia, it’s vital that their 13 Fords and numerous trucks are on the road and functioning properly at all times.

They started 11 years ago with just two employees delivering 6000 gas cylinders per year. Today they employ 26 people and distribute 500,000 cylinders annually from their distribution centres in Port Augusta, Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley and Gepps Cross.

FOCUS ON THE FUTURE

The ever popular Ford Focus has won plenty of fans with its German engineering and practicality, and is set to grow with the announcement that a new model, new bodystyles and enhanced safety options will soon be available.

A new 2.0-litre turbo-diesel five-door model, featuring a six-speed manual transmission, will make its debut as part of the new range, becoming the first diesel powered passenger car in the Ford Australia line-up.

The benefits of diesel are becoming increasingly hard to ignore, and with a growing desire for alternative fuels, the Focus turbo-diesel is sure to appeal to anyone looking for an everyday vehicle that doesn’t compromise on class or style.

Two new bodystyles will also be introduced as part of the freshening actions. A new Zetec sedan with five-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic transmission will be available, as will a Ghia hatchback with a four-speed automatic.

Safety will also improve with the new model, thanks to across the range availability of curtain airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and traction control with Emergency Brake Assist (EBA). These reassuring safety features will be available as part of an optional safety pack on all Focus models.

New exterior door mirrors incorporating a turn indicator will become standard on all models and a new front bumper, as seen on the Focus Coupe-Cabriolet, will be incorporated across the range, excluding XR5 Turbo. New alloy wheel designs will further differentiate the freshened range, as will two new exterior colours, Tango and Tonic.
