A word from the
Dealer Principal

I am excited to welcome you to the first edition of our e-news. With favourable economic conditions, the motor vehicle industry continues to run at near record levels, with 2006 on track to be the second biggest sales year ever. As part of that growth, we’re extremely pleased to announce that we have added the Dodge franchise as part of our group. The brand was launched in August and we’re excited to be able to offer such a fresh brand to our customers.
This month we celebrate the victory of our Service Foreman David Twigg. As winner of Foreman of the year for South Australia, David won a trip to Detroit, USA.
This is just one of many awards we’ve been awarded in the past six months, and we plan to keep them coming.
Also this month we take a look at some ways in which you can save dollars at the petrol pump.
We hope you enjoy this issue and the many to come and we thankyou for your continued support in 2006.
I wish you safe and enjoyable driving.

| ADRIAN BRIEN WELCOMES DODGE |
Adrian Brien Automotive is excited to announce that we now carry the Dodge range of vehicles. Not seen in Australia since 1972, the Dodge brand has a strong following in other regions of the globe, particularly in the U.S where the marque sold over one million cars last year, making Dodge the eighth largest brand in the world.
The first Dodge available to Australian drivers is the Caliber, a mid sized car that has plenty of bite. While delivering all the benefits of a compact car, it brings with it a distinctive attitude that sets it apart from the crowd.
With a wide range of options available including a high-powered nine-speaker sound system, refrigerated console and rechargeable torch built into the roof lining the Caliber offers plenty of comfort, while either a 1.8-litre or 2.0-litre engine provides the power.
Available now, you can be one of the first to get behind the wheel of a Dodge Caliber by calling Martin or Matt on 8374 5444.

One of the things we’re most proud of at Adrian Brien Automotive is our team. This month we celebrate and say thanks to Alex Hill and Craig Smith, both of whom have been with us for 10 years.
Alex started his career with Adrian Brien selling in our Chrysler Jeep department, before eventually taking over in a management role. These days you can find him in our Ford Business Centre providing motoring solutions to local businesses.
Craig started out as a sales consultant and has worked his way up to become New Ford Sales Manager last year.
Well done guys and we hope to see you for another decade!
Can you remember back to 1996?

No one has enough money these days, and certainly no one
has enough to waste on petrol. Following these tips may help you keep your
dollars in your pocket a little longer.
WALK, RIDE OR TAKE
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
It may sound obvious,
but walking or riding is a great way to stay in shape, and catching public
transport can give you time to read, sleep or just watch the world go
by.
SLOW DOWN
Because wind
resistance increases dramatically with speed, the faster you go, the more fuel
you use. Avoid hard acceleration, especially when you’re likely to have to slow
down soon. By slowing down you’ll be a safer, more relaxed driver and you’ll
increase your fuel efficiency. And for some reason rushing never seems to get
you there any faster, so slow down!
EMPTY YOUR
CAR
Chances are your car is carrying unnecessary weight that will
reduce your fuel efficiency. If you have a boot full of bowling balls, you
should get rid of them for an improvement at the petrol
pump.
STOP THE IDLING
The old theory that
it takes more petrol to start a car than it does to leave running isn’t true. If
you’re likely to be stopped for more than a minute, turn the engine off and save
petrol.
ANTICIPATE STOPS AND BRAKE LESS
If you're at a
stoplight, don't speed away when there's a good chance you'll have to stop again
soon. Accelerate slowly, and then coast to the next light. If you see a need to
stop up ahead, coast. Don't continue to accelerate and then brake at the last
minute. If you anticipate your stops, you'll cut down on your wasteful
acceleration, and save lots of fuel.
SERVICE YOUR
CAR REGULARLY
Getting your car
serviced regularly is one of the most important things you can do to maximize
fuel efficiency. Regular service can spot lots of problems that reduce mileage
and increase pollution, such as a broken thermostat, low transmission fluid,
sticky brake calipers — or even something as simple as a dirty air filter.
