FORD TERRITORY SCORE
TOP
MARKS FOR SAFETY |
The amazing Ford Territory Ghia was recently named as one of only two vehicles tested in Australia to score the top “five star” safety rating in the latest Reversing Visibility Index – the highest score awarded.
In its latest round of testing the National Roads and Motorist Association (NRMA) tested 270 vehicles. Only the Territory Ghia and the Lexus GS430 managed to return a “five star” rating because they’re fitted with a reverse camera to deliver enhanced visibility prior to reversing.
The great news for Ford owners is that the reverse camera provides a better rear view perspective for the driver, and is standard on the Ford Territory Ghia and Territory Ghia Turbo. The reverse camera is also available as an option on the Territory TS.
By using a special “fish-eye” lens on the camera, 130-degree views behind the car are displayed to a driver, increasing safety in a range of situations. For more information on how to make your vehicle safer, contact us today.

The Good Guys history in electrical appliance retailing in Australia goes back to 1952. In 1992, The Good Guys banner appeared on just 14 stores in Victoria. Just 6 years later in 1998 the group implemented its iconic Good Vibrations “Pay Less Pay Cash” advertising campaign and continued the growth that today sees the prominent trademark on some 72 stores nationally.

It is one of life’s great mysteries; what exactly does fill those hundreds of pages that sit, almost untouched in their pristine folder, stored securely in your glove compartment?
For many people, their car manual seems like a superfluous accessory to their new vehicle. Perhaps if it is your first new car you might sit down and give it a flick-through, but for the majority of us, we figure we got this far without reading it and our cars haven’t complained too loudly, so what’s in there can’t be overly important.
Well for those of you whose car manuals bear un-cracked spines, we have brought you a few fool-safe tips selected from the chapters of the little book that holds all the secrets to your automobile.
FUEL TANK
You may know what type of fuel to put in your new car, but do you know how much? Every fuel tank has an air space to allow for fuel expansion in hot weather. If you continue to add fuel after the filler nozzle has automatically shut off or an initial blowback occurs, the air chamber will become full and any expansion due to heat will cause leakage that can damage your paint work and is not covered under warranty. So next time you are tempted to push in more fuel and get the pump to the next rounded dollar, remember this tip and don’t make your car feel as bloated as a kid after an all-you-can eat buffet dinner.

KEYS
Keys fitted with immobiliser systems can be sensitive objects. If you store them with other vehicle’s immobiliser keys or near magnetic objects, their effectiveness is compromised. The lesson is simple; reduce the weight of your key ring and prolong the life of your immobiliser. If you want to get really technical, you would be better off replacing your metal key fob with a leather or plastic one.
AIR-CON
There’s probably not many less-appealing options on a cold winter’s day than blasting your air-conditioner at full pelt, but if you are diligent about doing so, you’ll be thankful come summer that your air-con hasn’t given up the ghost after four months of hibernation. Operate your AC at least once a month for one minute with the engine idling. This circulates the refrigerant and oil and helps protect the internal components, which will help maintain optimum performance and durability of your air conditioner.
If any of these tips come as a surprise to you, it may be time to read your manual. You’ll also find tips on every auto-related task including changing a tyre, getting your stuck car out of mud and folding your seats correctly.
Happy and safe motoring.
