DECEMBER 2008

A MESSAGE FROM THE DEALER PRINCIPAL

Hello and welcome to the December Brighton Hyundai
e-news.

What a year 2008 has been!  Petrol prices have been sky high this year, as Hyundai has proven itself as a leader in the fuel economy field, winning numerous awards, and cementing our place in the Australian market.

In this month’s edition we take a look at some of the newest offerings from Hyundai as we move into 2009, including the next generation Santa Fe.

We also help you bring in the Christmas season with some suggestions for getting in the festive mood around town, as well as celebrate the success enjoyed by Hyundai in what can only be described as one of the best years ever!

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!

AUSTRALIA’S BEST CARS

Hyundai has finished 2008 off on a high after Australia’s motoring clubs state-wide have named Hyundai’s new i30 and iMax as Australia’s Best Cars.

The i30 was named as Australia’s ‘Best Mid-size Car Under $28,000’ for 2008 while the iMax was awarded with the ‘Best People Mover’ for 2008 prize.

This comes after the Hyundai range has been awarded with numerous awards throughout the last 12 months, kicking off with the i30 being named as the CarsGuide Car of the Year and Green Car of the Year for 2007 last December.

But that’s not all the awards for the Hyundai i30, which along with the Getz, was named as the cheapest car to run by the RACV in their Vehicle Operating Survey a few months ago.

The iMax, along with the iLoad, joined our range earlier this year and has made inroads into the passenger and commercial van market with the iLoad being named as the Best Medium Van 2008 by Delivery Magazine and now the iMax the Best People Mover.

Now after being recognised by the seven states and territory motoring groups of Australia, 2008 has been a winning year for Hyundai, and we can’t wait for 2009!

2009 SANTA FE RELEASED

Hyundai has released details on the new 2009 model Hyundai Santa Fe that is set to provide the most fuel efficient AWD in its segment.

Available in a 2.7-litre V6 petrol or 2.2-litre CRDi turbo diesel engine, the 2009 Santa Fe features ESP Stability Control and six airbags as standard across the range.

The new Santa Fe also features a ‘torque on-demand’ AWD system, which means that power is directed to the rear wheels whenever adverse conditions or loss of traction are detected, while alternatively the 4WD lock position can be selected to permanently lock all four wheels.

BEST OCTOBER YET

With the demand for fuel efficient vehicles continuing to be on the rise, Hyundai has registered its biggest ever October sales.

Comparing October 2008 to October 2007 global sales rose by 12 per cent to 269,958 units.

The accumulated sales for the first 10 months of the year are up 8.9 per cent.

This comes at a time of global financial uncertainty, as consumers have shifted their focus to more fuel efficient and value for money vehicles, like that of the award-winning Hyundai Getz and i30.

With new models having just been or to be introduced over the coming months, 2008 is set to end on a high for Hyundai and the future looks promising.
