DO YOUR PARENTS HAVE TALENT?!
“Do Your Parents Have Talent?” is an event aimed at the parents of primary school children across the Bayside and Kingston municipalities.
The aim of this first ever inaugural amateur talent show is to encourage community involvement and demonstrate the value of participation to school children
|
|
With television programs such as So You Think You Can Dance and Australia’s Got Talent, it is now an appropriate time to introduce a local version within our community in support of local schools.
The event is a pioneer project in Australia, and is a unique opportunity to bring local schools and families together in a fun, inspiring environment.
All funds raised from the event will go back to the participants in the form of prizes and funds will be awarded to every school who participates helping to contribute towards their local school projects. |

DRIVING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND |
 |
| |
Winter is approaching and the snow season is only just around the corner.
As you prepare to hit the slopes this year it is important to ensure that you take the appropriate steps while on the road.
Here are our snow driving safety tips:
• |
Watch your speed and adjust according to the weather. Slow down when conditions deteriorate and proceed with caution, particularly in fog, snow or ice. |
• |
Use fog lights or head lights when the weather gets bad so other drivers can see you. |
• |
Take care overtaking. Never overtake on a hill, at a bend or at intersections. |
• |
Don't tailgate. Braking distances in snow and ice are increased compared to dry conditions. Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front. |
• |
Brake and accelerate gently. Braking should be gentle and early. When you accelerate, make sure you do it slowly |
• |
Don’t drive if you can’t see the edge of the road or the next snow pole. These are painted orange and are tall enough for drivers to get their bearings in heavy snow. |
|
|
As always, the most important thing to remember is to drive safe, whether snow, ice, rain or even the clearest of days. |
