THE FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT AT CARLTON

The AFL Home and Away Season has drawn to a close with Carlton capping off a positive year and looking towards the future.

After finishing 11th on the ladder, next year looks promising for the Blues, as their young list gains experience and becomes a serious contender for the 2009 season.

The Blues finished the season with 10 wins and 12 loses.

The season was full of excitement, as last year’s No. 1 draft pick Matthew Kreuzer played every game of the season following his Round 3 debut, just as top recruit Chris Judd represented the Blues in 21 matches after his return from injury in Round 2.

But the main achievement of 2008 was Brendan Fevola’s second place in the Coleman Medal kicking 99 goals for the year in dramatic fashion.

The disappointment was rife amongst Carlton, and generally football fans, last weekend, with Fevola stranded on 99 goals at the end of their Round 22 match against Hawthorn, which saw Hawk Lance Franklin kick 100 goals in the first quarter.

Franklin needed only two goals to reach the milestone, while Fevola needed eight, falling only one short on seven.

Hyundai is proud to be associated with Carlton and we looked forward to next season with anticipation.

As a major sponsor of the Blues, we as a dealership were excited to participate in the Hyundai Legends Game prior to the August 17th match against the Kangaroos, where we were represented by our very own James Sounas.

A great day was had by all and we look forward to many more opportunities with the Blues in the future.
