HYUNDAI’S THE CHEAPEST CAR TO RUN - AGAIN
|
 |
| |
Hyundai has yet again been named as Australia’s cheapest car to run by the RACV’s 2009 Vehicle Operating Costs Survey with the Getz costing only $114.65 per week to run.
The Hyundai Getz S was named as last year’s cheapest car to run by the Survey and was again awarded with the title after being down on last year’s cost of $122.83 per week.
Taking out the light car category, the Getz was yet again joined by the Hyundai i30 SX petrol leading the small car category, costing $145.95 per week.
But this year they were joined by another Hyundai as the Tucson City topped the compact SUV category at $179.08 per week for 2009.
“Winning these awards reinforces that Hyundai offers Australian consumers a complete package – namely outstanding value when purchasing a Hyundai product and exceptional value when owning and running a Hyundai car,” said Nick Aravanis, Hyundai’s Director of Aftersales.
“We are extremely proud that Getz has not only won its category, but also the survey for the last three years running.”

Calculations for the Vehicle Operating Costs Survey are based on a five-year ownership period and average operating costs for private motorists including an average driving distance of 15,000km. The data was collected in the period leading up to early May 2009.

THE RECORDS KEEP BREAKING AT HYUNDAI |
 |
| |
Hyundai has done it yet again − breaking records as sales continue to rise for the brand.
June has produced Hyundai Australia’s best ever sales result of 7,862 vehicle sales and a 7.6 per cent market share.
Hyundai has posted six consecutive months of monthly year-on-year growth with an average growth rate of 21 per cent becoming the only top 10 brand to achieve a sales increase in terms of year-to-date sales.
Three Hyundai models including the i30, Tucson and iLoad have achieved their highest ever monthly market share in their respective segments while the Hyundai Getz has ranked as the most popular selling light car for month June.
“June was Hyundai Motor Company Australia’s best ever month,” said Kevin McCann, Hyundai’s Director of Sales and Marketing.

|
|
“One of the key reasons we have seen steady growth so far this year, has been the expanding customer base across a wide range of buyer and social demographics. The changing perception of the brand is resulting in an increase in retail and corporate sales.”

HYUNDAI LAUNCHING HYBRID ELANTRA
|
 |
| |
Hyundai has joined the hybrid market with the new Elantra LPI Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) released into the South Korean domestic market on July 7th.
|
|
This is the company’s first inroad into hybrid market whilst also revolutionising the technology with the world’s first hybrid electric vehicle to be powered by a Liquefied Petroleum Injected (LPI) engine using LPG as fuel.
Using LPG as well as the world’s first Lithium Ion Polymer rechargeable batteries to power the engine, the Elantra LPI HEV will emit just 99g/km of CO2 and 90 per cent fewer emissions than an equivalent standard 1.6-litre petrol powered Elantra, qualifying it as a Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle.
After premiering at the Seoul Motor Show earlier this year the Elantra LPI HEV will ensure eco-friendliness as well as economical operating costs and differentiated design. |
