The Social Media Revolution

According to Wikipedia, Ernesto “Che” Guevara was so appalled at the endemic poverty he saw when he travelled through Latin America that it led him to conclude that the region’s inequalities were a direct result of monopoly capitalism, neo-colonialism and imperialism, and the only remedy for this was a worldwide revolution.

 

Later while living in Mexico City, he met and joined Raul and Fidel Castro’s 26th of July Movement whose aim was to overthrow the U.S. backed Dictator Fulgenicio Batista, which the movement achieved after two years of guerrilla warfare.

 

Following the Cuban Revolution, Guevara performed a number of key roles in the new Government until he left in 1965 to kick start guerrilla operations in the Congo-Kinshasa and later Bolivia, where he was captured by the CIA-assisted Bolivian forces and executed.
