Hello and welcome to the April edition
of Preston Motors Dandenong e-news.

Well Easter is upon us once again and runs into ANZAC Day, making for an extra long break for people across Australia.

While it’s set to be a wonderful break for everyone, ANZAC Day will also be sombre for many as we remember all of the ANZACs who lost their lives in war for our country.

The Easter weekend is also a reminder that winter is almost here, and now is the time to make sure your car is in top condition to get through the winter months. We’ve got some great tips for you on how to winter proof your car.

Our Parts Manager Scott Haines is featured in this month’s issue. We put some questions to him so you can get some insight into the man behind the parts. There’s also a parts special this month that Scott has included, so be sure to take advantage of it or pass it onto someone who will benefit from it.

Finally, we take a look at the excellent Pajero four-wheel drive Platinum Edition. The already legendary Pajero adds another great model to its portfolio and includes impressive safety, style and function additions. ANZAC DAY

ANZAC Day is coming up on April 25 and it’s an important day for Australians and New Zealanders as they commemorate and remember the courageous men and women who served in the First World War, especially those who lost their lives for their country.

ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) refers to the Australian and New Zealand soldiers who took to Turkey’s Gallipoli peninsula to aid the safe passage of allied forces across the Black Sea.

The battle at Gallipoli resulted in a huge loss of life for our ANZACs, but what was forged was a mateship that still stands to this day between the Australia and New Zealand armies.

Take part in remembering these men and women at this year’s Dawn service, at the Shrine Forecourt at 6am.

There will also be the ANZAC Day March along St Kilda Road starting at around 9am. The March finishes up at the Shrine of Remembrance by 1pm in time for the Commemorative Service.

This is an important day for all Australians to take the time to be involved in. If you would like to take part in your local ANZAC day celebrations, learn more at www.shrine.org.au.

WINTER CHECK UP

The cold weather is on its way and as winter takes hold, driving becomes far more dangerous due to slippery roads, fog and unpredictable weather.

To before the cold months set in, make sure your car is in pristine condition and able to handle any obstacles it may come across. Here are some useful tips, to ensure your car is winter proof, keeping you safe and warm:

Ensure your windscreen wipers are working effectively.  If your blades are leaving tracks across your windscreen or not working like they should; your wiper rubbers will need replacing.

Have your shock absorbers checked.  Faulty shock absorbers can cause bald spots around the tread of the tyre, which means water will not be dispersed as effectively, and could cause a serious accident.

Check your headlights and brake lights are all working.  With reduced visibility due to lack of daylight or weather conditions, it is even more important to ensure your car’s visibility; not only for your own benefit when driving, but to make sure can that other drivers see your car.

Ensure your car’s demister and air-conditioning system works.  With frost and fog prominent in the morning, it’s important to make sure your demister is working properly, otherwise you’ll find yourself driving with frosted over windows.

To help ensure your car is winter proof, book your car in for a service at Preston Motors Dandenong Mitsubishi, and we’ll have your car set for the roads in no time! Click here to book your car in for a service.
